MISSION
The
mission of ECHOE is to represent all privately-owned and non-governmental
European organizations offering high quality and educationally sound distance
learning.
ECHOE
aims to improve the quality and acceptance of distance learning to ensure
the maximum benefit for students.
ECHOE
provides its members with a forum for open discussion of all issues related
to distance learning and for sharing ideas and good practice.
OBJECTIVES
- Promote
and protect the interests of members and students;
- Promote
professional and ethical standards in distance learning institutes;
- Promote
research, in particular into new methodology and electronic learning;
- Promote
the exchange of ideas and research findings among members;
- Gather
and communicate information about new developments in distance learning;
- Develop
a capacity among members to work on joint projects and share resources;
- Provide
a 'Best Practice Platform' for members to share experience;
- Achieve
parity of esteem with other forms of education;
- Cooperate
with the European Commission and national government agencies ;
- Develop
strategic partnerships with other bodies interested in distance
